AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce our first new signing of the 2024/25 season, as 21-year-old central midfielder Aidan Webster joins the Club from United Counties League Premier Division South side Bugbrooke St. Michaels.
Despite his young age, Aidan has plenty of experience having spent three seasons involved with the first team at Bugbrooke, becoming a mainstay in the Badgers’ midfield and impressing with both his ability on the ball and work ethic.
Diamonds’ Assistant Manager Dan Porter had this to say after announcing the Club’s first addition of the season: “Aidan is a top player who has been attracting a lot of interest. He’s a box to box midfielder who has impressed at Bugbrooke over the last few years but having had a number of conversations with him over the summer, he feels the time is now right for not only a new challenge, but a step up. He’s a really hard working player that will get up and down the pitch. He’ll have a big part to play for us this season and we’re excited to have him here.”
Aidan himself was delighted to join the Club and raring to get started: “It’s a real pleasure to be joining this great Club and I can’t wait to get going in a couple of weeks. It wasn’t a difficult decision to join a Club like AFC Rushden & Diamonds with the huge fanbase here, it’s a great opportunity for me to show what I can do and I intend to make the most of it.”
Aidan will be available for both home and away player sponsorship next month once player sponsorships for the 2024/25 season are open. Please keep an eye on https://www.afcdiamonds.com and across our social channels for details of this in due course.
