New Signing | David Adegbola

AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old defender David Adegbola, on a dual-registration agreement with Southern League Premier Central side St. Ives Town.

A full-back, David has been playing senior men’s football for the past 3-and-a-half seasons, starting with Buckingham United before moving on to Nottinghamshire-based Radford, both at Step 6. David moved up to Step 4 with Carlton Town last season and was ever-present as Carlton Town reached the play-offs in the Northern Premier League East Division, picking up the club’s Young Player of the Year award in the process.

After relocating back from university, David joined St. Ives Town in the summer of 2024 and has made 21 appearances for the Saints to date at Step 3, scoring once.

Diamonds’ Assistant Manager Dan Porter had this to say on the Club’s latest addition: “We’re really happy to get David on board and our thanks to Ricky (Marheineke) at St. Ives Town for allowing him to join us for a period of time. David is held in high regard, has played regularly at Step 3 this season and gives us more options down the right hand side. He’s an attacking full-back that we are delighted to add and will most certainly bolster the squad.”

David Adegbola is available for selection for this weekend’s home game against Hinckley Leicester Road in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.
