New Signing: Dylan Edge

AFC Rushden & Diamonds are thrilled to announce the signing of 25-year-old striker Dylan Edge from Corby Town.

Dylan has only been with Corby Town for a month or two having spent 18 months prior to that with Spalding United, where he was a regular in the side that finished as losing play-off finalists last season in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. Dylan scored 17 goals last season and comes with a proven track record of hitting the back of the net.

Prior to joining Spalding United, Dylan came through the ranks at King’s Lynn Town, spending a number of years with his boyhood club during their rise through the leagues. He has also represented Dereham Town, Swaffham Town, Thetford Town and Wisbech Town over the last few years, scoring goals wherever he has been.

Following the recent injury to Will Jones, Manager Chris Nunn had been on the hunt for an addition to his forward line and was delighted to be able to secure Dylan’s signature: “It was clear that we needed another option at the top end of the pitch given we’ve had lads playing through the pain barrier recently on top of Will’s injury. To be able to get someone with Dylan’s track record in so early on in the season is a big plus for us and he adds some more experience to our young group. The agreement initially is that we will take Dylan for a month or two and both ourselves, Corby and Dylan will see where we’re at at that point and go from there. I’d like to thank Setch (Gary Setchell) at Corby for helping us get this over the line before the weekend.”

Dylan is available for selection for this weekend’s fixture in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division against Loughborough Dynamo.

Dylan’s sponsorship has been reserved but the Club is still seeking sponsors for a handful of players. If you’re interested, please contact Alex Raspin – alex.raspin@afc-diamonds.com – for details.
