AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old defender Jarvis Wilson on a dual-registration basis from United Counties League Premier Division South high-flyers Newport Pagnell Town.
Jarvis started his career with Northampton Town as a scholar, before spending a number of seasons at Step 3 with St. Ives Town. In recent years, he has featured regularly in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands for Daventry Town, before re-joining his former manager Arron Parkinson at Newport Pagnell Town in the summer of 2023.
A ball-playing centre half, Jarvis is no stranger to Assistant Manager Tom Lorraine, as the pair played together at Daventry Town. Shanks was delighted to secure his signature ahead of an important run of fixtures for the Club: “I’m a big fan of Jarvis. He’s good on the ball and suits the way we want to play which is important. Despite being relatively young, he’s experienced at this level and above and he brings a level of physicality that we’re looking for. He’s strong, good in the air and plays on the edge, but importantly he brings a lot of quality and I’m confident he’ll be a big asset moving forward.”
Jarvis is available for selection for this evening’s tie in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division against Walsall Wood.
