AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing on a dual registration basis of 28-year-old striker Luke Emery from United Counties League Premier Division South side Bugbrooke St. Michaels.
A prolific finisher over many years in the United Counties League, Luke has featured for Cogenhoe United, Daventry Town, Newport Pagnell Town, Biggleswade Town and Northampton ON Chenecks. The 2018/19 United Counties League Premier Division Top Goalscorer has hit 7 goals in 20 games so far this season between Newport Pagnell Town and Bugbrooke St. Michaels.
The Club have been in the market for a striker for some time and manager Michael Harriman is understandably pleased with this vital addition to the group: “This is great news to get Luke in with us moving forward. Luke is a proven goalscorer, he’s done it for years and getting him through the door gives us a big boost. He is a big, strong lad who can link the play well and ultimately put the ball in the back of the net. We are looking forward to seeing him in a Diamonds shirt and seeing what he can achieve over the remainder of the season.”
Luke is available for selection for tomorrow’s crucial game at Hayden Road against Gresley Rovers in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.
