Newcastle Town v AFC Rushden & Diamonds – Saturday 13th August

AFC Rushden & Diamonds will play their first game in the Northern Premier League First Division South on Saturday when they travel to Staffordshire to face Newcastle Town (KO 3pm). The Diamonds are planning to wear their yellow away strip for this fixture.

Those Diamonds fans that followed R&DFC may remember visiting this stadium around 15 years ago to face the likes of Wrexham in a pre-season tournament. The ground is unusual as there is a banked cycle track surrounding the pitch, helping to give an elevated view.
