AFC Rushden & Diamonds travel to Communications Park on Thursday night to face Daventry Town for the second time this season. The Diamonds beat Daventry 3-0 at Kiln Park in their historic first competitive game, with goals from Danny Bird and Matti Ellis (2) making it the perfect start for the new club. The match report for that game can be viewed by clicking HERE.
Since then of course, Rushden have won once and drawn twice to put themselves top of the league on 8 points, one clear of their two previous opponents AFC Kempston Rovers and Woodford United. Daventry meanwhile have lost one and won one, their first victory being a comprehensive 4-1 win over Northampton Spencer last week.
We would like to encourage as many supporters as possible to make the trip to Daventry to cheer on the lads. Daventry have informed as that there is ample parking at the ground, and a warm welcome will be extended to anyone who wants to make use of their clubhouse.
