One in and One out

AFC Rushden & Diamonds can announce the signing of James Jepson. Midfielder Jepson has recently been playing at Stamford, having had a brief spell this season with Slough Town. Jepson’s previous clubs include Gresley Rovers, Kings Lynn, Kettering Town, Bedworth United, Rugby Town and Daventry Town.

In more squad changes, winger Shawn Richards has today left the club to sign for Rushall Olympic for the remainder of the season. January Player of the month Richards moves closer to his home, and with an opportunity to play at Step 3.

Manager Andy Peaks told AFCDiamonds.com “I am delighted to welcome James to the club, he is a player I have been looking at for a long time, but due to circumstances haven’t been able to bring to the club before now. He brings a wealth of experience, having captained a number of clubs at this and the level above.

“Shawn is probably better suited to a Northern League because of where he is geographically, and, coupled with the chance of playing at a higher level, it was a “no-brainer” for him. I have always said I would never stand in any players way of playing at a higher level. Shawn has done a great job for us since he arrived, we will keep his Southern League registration for this season and I will keep in contact with him”

The club would like to welcome James and thank Shawn for his efforts, and wish him good luck at his new club. Providing all the necessary paperwork is completed in time Jepson will be available for tomorrow’s matchday squad against Barton Rovers.
