Details for those players who made their debut for the club from the start of the 2018/19 season as the Diamonds moved up to Step 3 of the football pyramid.

The following players are no longer part of the current AFC Rushden & Diamonds Senior Playing Staff and have appeared in a league game for the club. This is the second part of a list of historic staff and players – see here for the first part. They are listed in the order they first appeared for the club. Nathan Hicks is an attacking central midfielder who had two spells with the club. He first joined the club shortly before the start of the 2018/19 season. His previous clubs included Biggleswade Town, Kettering Town, Histon, Leamington and Alfreton Town. After a successful campaign in 2018-19 when he made 47 league and cup appearances he was awarded the Manager’s Player of the Season Award to go with a Player of the Month award for April 2019. He then moved to St Ives Town before returning to Hayden Road for the 2022_23 season. He completed a century of appearances for the club before leaving by mutual consent in December 2022.

Zack Reynolds is a full back who can also play in wide midfield who joined the club from Chesham United prior to the start of the 2018/19 season. He started as a junior with Rushden & Diamonds, and completed his scholarship with Crawley Town. He then played for Aylesbury United before a number of short-term deals prior to joining Dunstable Town, from when he move to Chesham at the start of last season. In a successful 2018-19 season he appeared in 40 league and cup games, winning the Players’ Player of the Season award as well as a Player of the Month award. He signed a contract with the club for the 2019/20 season during the summer of 2019. After a season out of the game he signed for Stocksbridge Park Steels ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Dan Clifton joined the club shortly before the start of the 2018/19 season. Dan is an attacking central midfielder who was a junior with the Northampton Town Academy. After a loan spell with Rugby Town he moved on to Hitchin Town, from where he was dual registered with Corby Town. He has also appeared at Step 3 level with Biggleswade Town. After 14 appearances for the club, including 5 starts in the Southern League Premier Division Central, he moved down to Step 4 with Kempston Rovers at the start of 2019. For the 2019-20 season he moved to St Ives Town.

Ty Ward is a young midfielder who joined AFC Rushden & Diamonds from Dunstable Town prior to the start of the 2018/19 season. Ty had made the step up from the Dunstable Development Squad to the first team during the 2017-18 season and impressed at the Diamonds during a pre-season trial period. He made his debut for the club in the second game of the season at Biggleswade Town. He signed for Hemel Hempstead Town at the end of October 2018. He made a single start for the club, in a County Cup game, plus 3 substitute appearances, two of them in league games. In November 2018 he signed for St Ives Town.

Leon Lobjoit joined the club in August 2018 on a dual-registration basis with Brackley Town. He is a striker who signed for Northampton Town after scoring 60 goals for Buckingham Town. He was then loaned out a number of times during the 2017-18 season before joining Brackley. He stayed with the Diamonds for a few weeks, making three substitute appearances. He moved to Northampton Sileby Rangers shortly afterwards. After a short spell with Hemel Hempstead Town he transferred to Bedford Town in the Southern League Division One Central in March 2019, remaining at the Eyrie for the remainder of the season. He started the 2019/20 season with Newport Pagnell but left during the autumn to look for other opportunities.

Albie Hopkins joined the club on a 28-day Youth Loan from Oxford United in mid-August 2018 as a left-sided forward player.  This arrangement was then extended into early 2019 as Albie impressed with the Diamonds First Team, winning the Player of the Month award in November 2018 as well as several Man of the Match awards. In total he played 23 games for the club, scoring 4 goals. He left the club in early 2019 to join Oxford City at Step 2, but was released by Oxford United shortly afterwards. He signed for Melksham Town in November 2019.

Patrick Casey is a young defender who graduated to the first team squad in 2018 after impressing at Academy level and in pre-season games. Previously he had spent time with Northampton Town Academy as well as in the Diamonds Youth Set-up. He made his first team debut aged 17 in a Hillier Senior Cup Game in September 2018, following that up with a Man of the Match appearance in the following round. He also signed for Bugbrooke St Michaels on dual registration during the 2018/19 season, playing for them in the UCL, he then signed senior forms for the Diamonds ahead of the 2019/20 season and quickly became a first-team regular, making 71 appearances before he left the club in autumn 2022.

Matt Berry-Hargreaves is a centre back who joined the Diamonds a youth-loan from Oxford United at the end of November 2018. He had signed professional terms for the U’s in summer 2018. After an impressive debut for the Diamonds in a game at Leiston he spent a period out injured before he returned in a right-back role. He returned to his parent club early in 2019 having appeared in 5 games for the club. He then had a spell on loan at Banbury United before being released by Oxford United at the end of the season. He joined Hungerford Town for the 2019/20 season.

Alex Collard is a centre-back who joined the Diamonds at the end of November 2018 after leaving Kempston Rovers. He had previously played for a number of clubs in the Aylesbury area, including over 50 appearances for Aylesbury United, as well as at Chichester City whilst he was a student in that area. In an impressive first season with the Diamonds he picked up two Player of the Month Awards during the 2018/19 campaign. His impressive performances in the Diamonds defence continued either side of the Covid stoppages, during which time he also took on the role of Club Captain. He left at the end of the 2021/22 season having made 85 appearances for the club, joining ex-Diamonds Manager Andy Peaks at Tamworth FC.

Sam Johnson joined the club at the end of November 2018, having had a short spell with Kempston Rovers following his return from time playing and coaching in New Zealand. A wide-midfielder in his mid-twenties. he spent his junior career in East Anglia before an initial spell with Kempston Rovers. helping them to gain promotion. He made 20 appearances for the Diamonds during the remainder of the 2018/19 season. He left the club to return to Kempston Rovers in November 2019.

Ben Acquaye joined the club from Kempston Rovers at the end of December 2018 as an attacking midfielder. After patiently waiting for his first team chance, and following a number of cameo appearances as substitute, he was rewarded with a first-team start in April 2019. In the 2019/20 season he established himself as a regular starter in the Diamonds first team, winning three of the first four “Player of the Month” awards that season. After 43 appearances in the first team he joined Kettering Town during the truncated 2020/21 campaign before joining Banbury Town ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Niall Cooper is a goalkeeper who joined the club prior to the 2019/20 season. During the pre-season campaign he was man of the match in the Maunsell Cup Final. He has previously played at Bedford Town, Stratford Town, Rugby Town, Leamington, Redditch Utd and Kettering Town. He made two league appearances before leaving the club in November 2019.


Nat Gosnal-Taylor is a winger who joined the club from Rushden and Higham United having impressed in the series of friendlies prior to the 2019/20 season. Although on the club books for a while, his appearances were limited, but he did manage 23 games for the club.


Nathan Tshikuna made a brief Diamonds appearance in a County Cup game ahead of the 2019/20 season, but joined the first team squad on a regular basis for the 2021/22 campaign. He appeared in 46 games during that season before moving to Royston Town in August 2022.


Matthew Slinn joined the club as a young midfielder in summer 2019, having been released from the Northampton Town Academy. He progressed in that role with the Diamonds, appearing in 63 games ahead of a move to Corby Town.in July 2022.


Ryan Dove is a striker who was well regarded in local football when he joined the club prior to the 2019/20 season. During the 2018/19 season he was at Cogenhoe United in the UCL Premier, scoring 28 goals in 29 games, having previously scored 28 goals in 45 games during the 2017/18 season. He appeared in 25 games for the club in that 2019/20 campaign before joining Wellingborough Town.


Jesse Akubuine is a midfielder who signed for the Diamonds following some impressive performances during pre season for the 2019/20 campaign. Jesse had come through the Brentford academy, and before joining the Diamonds had a couple of years in Scotland with Queen of the South and Cumbernauld Colts. He appeared in 65 games for the club before leaving in October 2022 to join Stratford Town.

Massiah Mcdonald is a striker who had a brief spell with the club at the start of the 2019-20 season before leaving at the start of October 2019 to join Ilkeston Town. He made 3 starts for the club, as well as three appearances from the bench, scoring once. He is a Montserrat international and had spells at Coalville Town and Barwell FC at the same Step 4 level during the 2018/19 season. Prior to that he had spells with Corby Town, Alfreton Town, Kings Lynn, Matlock Town and Bradford Park Avenue.

Will Jones was part of the 2018-19 season’s all-conquering Academy U16s playing in a forward role, and he also plays for the Academy U18s and Aspire. After playing in cup games for the first team he made his league debut as a substitute in the game at Kings Langley in December 2019. Although he made a total of 49 appearances for the Diamonds first team, a large majority were from the substitutes bench, meaning he only netted five times during the 2021/22 season, after which he moved to local football.

Morgan Roberts is a wide midfielder who joined the club on an initial one-month loan from Northampton Town on 10th October 2019 aged 18. He made his Diamonds debut shortly afterwards and played a total of 8 games for the first team during that loan period, scoring once. He then went on loan to Banbury United, before being recalled by the Cobblers early in 2020. He then went on loan to Banbury United, and joined them permanently in 2021.

Jordan MacLeod is a striker who joined the club from Peterborough Sports in October 2019, having been dual registered at Deeping Rangers where he had scored 20 goals in 16 games. He also played for Peterborough Northern Star earlier in his career. He appeared in 16 games for the club, scoring 3 times during the 2019/20 season. He then spent time at Yaxley and back at Peterborough Sports.

Greg Kaziboni is a forward player who joined the club on loan from Tamworth FC at the end of 2019. He had a successful Southern League season with Banbury Utd in 2018-19, and he has previously also played for Biggleswade Town, Brackley Town, Corby Town and Northampton Town. He has made appearances in the Football League as well as at Conference North level. After making 6 appearance for the club during the loan period, scoring twice, he returned to Tamworth, before going on another loan, this time to Banbury United.

Fabio Lopes joined the club in February 2020 on loan from Oxford United. Lopes grew up in Lisbon and moved to Bicester in 2015. He started out with Brackley Town and the subsequently joined Oxford United as a scholar. He made a single appearance for the Diamonds in a game at Coalville just ahead of the season being halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Leon Chambers-Parillon is a goal-scoring midfielder who joined the club in February 2020 on a Work Experience Loan from Oxford United in the middle of February 2020. He had previously spent time with Aston Villa and Luton Town. He made two substitute appearances for the Diamonds in games at Coalville and Banbury just ahead of the season being halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cian Tyler is a goalkeeper who signed on loan from Coventry City at the end of February 2020. Tyler had previously spent a month on loan at Barwell FC. He was with the Coventry City U18 setup, and has featured on the bench for the first team. He made a single appearance for the Diamonds in a game at Banbury just ahead of the season being halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fabio Sole is a midfielder who joined the club on a Work Experience Loan from Oxford United in the middle of February 2020. He made his first team debut for Oxford United in the EFL Trophy, having spent time with Reading FC earlier in his junior days. He made a single appearance for the Diamonds in a game at Banbury just ahead of the season being halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Richard Walton is a goalkeeper who joined the club in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020. As a result he could only play in the nine games that were completed during the 2020/21 season before moving on. He had previously been at Tamworth and Coalville Town.

Lorrell Smith is a striker that joined the club in the between the two seasons affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. He appeared in all nine games of the 2020/21 season, scoring four times. Although he remained with the club for the following season, injury and other issues meant he only started a single game in the 2021/22 season, with three appearances as substitute, adding a further goal to his tally.

Prince Mutswunguma is a striker that joined the club in the between the two seasons affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, making three substitute appearance during the brief 2020/21 campaign. He had previously played for St Neots Town, and moved to play in Ireland after leaving the Diamonds.

Dean Snedker is a goalkeeper who was signed by Andy Peaks in the summer of 2021 after previously appearing at Step 2 at Hemel Hempstead FC. He was largely ever-present for seasons until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, having made 88 appearances for the club.

Sam Warburton completed a full season for the club in a full back role in the 2021/22 season before moving to Bedford Town. His 43 club appearances followed spells at Corby Town and Rugby Town.

Claudio Dias is a midfielder who is a product of Northampton Town FC’s youth system He signed his first professional contract in 2013 and played at clubs including Stratford FC, Tamworth FC, Banbury United FC and Nuneaton Borough FC prior to joining the club in the summer of 2021. In October 2021 he signed for Alvechurch FC having appeared 8 times for the Diamonds.

Jay Williams joined the club in August 2021, making nine appearances before moving to Banbury United two months later. He had previous played 16 times for Northampton Town, followed by spells at Kettering Town and Harrogate Town.

Ravi Shamsi joined from Nuneaton Borough in September 2021, and made 22 appearances, scoring 5 times before injury ended his season early. He moved to St Ives Town when he regained full fitness in October 2022.

Connor Furlong is a midfield player who joined ahead of the 2021/22 season from Biggleswade Town. He had previously represented Scotland at Under 16 level and played at Oxford City, MK Dons, Barton Rovers, Bedford Town and Aylesbury United. He had made 38 appearance for the club before joining Royston Town in autumn 2022.

AJ George is a midfield player born in Antigua who joined the club in October 2021 and played 28 times in the remainder of the 2021/22 season. He joined ex-Diamonds Manager Andy Peaks at Tamworth for the 2022/23 season.

Ty Deacon is a striker who joined from Aylesbury United at the start of November 2021, and quickly became a favourite at the club, scoring 9 goals in 15 league games as the club pushed towards the playoffs. However he was offered a chance to play at a higher level with Kettering Town and joined them in February 2022. After limited match time he returned to Step 3 the following season with Tamworth FC.

Jack Snelus joined the club early in 2022 but was limited to six games in midfield for the club before joining Hitchin Town in September 2022.

Lauric Diakiesse joined the club from Kettering Town in March 2022 as new manager Andy Burgess looked to maintain the push for playoff places. Prior to joining Kettering, Diakiesse has previously played for Aldershot Town, Erith & Belvedere, Woodford Town, Harrow Borough, Ilford FC, Imortal Desportivo Clube (Portugal), Ware, Egham Town and Heybridge Swifts. After nine appearances he left at the end of that season. He played for Ramsgate and Ashford United in Kent during the 2022/23 season.

Lewis Johnson signed on loan from MK Dons for the last month of the 2021/22 season, appearing in 5 games during the loan period.

Jordan Graham joined the club just before the transfer deadline in the 2021/22 season. A former Leicester City youth product, he had worked with both Andy Burgess and Lee Glover at Mansfield. He followed Lee Glover to Kettering Town the following season.

Courtney Lashley joined the club ahead of the 2022-23 season as a former Northampton Town defender who has could play as either a left back or left wing back, He signed a contract with the Club for the 2022/23 season, but went out on loan for the remainder of the season to Wellingborough Town at the start of February 2023, having appeared 20 times for the club.

Evan Empochontsif became a Diamonds player prior to the 2022-23 season, joining from Canvey Island. The central defender signed a contract in July 2022 after impressing in pre-season games, and went on to play 22 games for the club before an agreement to terminate the contract during February 2023.

Jenson Cooper is a striker who joined the club prior to the 2022-23 season aged 18, having moved on from the Shrewsbury Town Academy. He stayed at the club throughout that campaign, making 39 appearances and scoring 6 times.

Tyrese Sutherland joined the club prior to the 2022/23 season as an attacking midfielder who had been playing at Step 5 level. After 10 appearances, including 7 league appearances as substitute he left the club in autumn 2022, moving to Sutton Common Rovers.

Jack Connor is a young striker who joined the club on loan from Northampton Town for the start of the 2022/23 season. He stayed with the club until the start of 2023, making 18 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

Miguel Ngwa joined on loan from Northampton Town in August 2022, making 21 appearances for the club during the remainder of 2022, scoring 3 times, After his loan period ended at the start of 2023 he returned to the Cobblers and went on a further loan to Rushall Olympic.

Matthew Lars Fossen joined the club ahead of the 2022-23 season, returning to the UK after playing in professional environments in Norway, Spain, and Sweden. He had come through Leeds United’s academy, having also been at Bradford City and Halifax Town. His spell at the club was dominated by injury, and he was only able to make two appearances before agreeing terms to leave the club early in 2023.

Conor Tee signed for the Diamonds in August 2022. He had progressed through the youth system at Leicester City, and had then played for Brackley Town and South Shields. After 24 appearances, scoring twice he left the club in February 2023.

Morgan Worsfold-Gregg joined the club on loan from Lincoln City FC in August 2022, playing in midfield. He began his career at Arsenal as a schoolboy before Joining Lincoln City as a scholar in 2022. His loan ended in early 2023 after he had made 8 appearances.

Jordan Hines had a short spell with the club in September 2022. The Yorkshire-based striker played 4 times including 3 league appearances for Andy Burgess, having stepped up from Step 5 level. In October 2022 he returned to play his football in that area with Tadcaster Albion.

Charlie Black is a utility player who is a graduate of the Luton Town Academy joining in September 2022. He played in various roles for the club during the 2022-23 season, making 20 appearances.

Hamilton Bunga is a centre-back who joined the club at start of October 2022. He joined from Yaxley FC, having also played for Kingstonian, Leiston, Canvey Island, Nuneaton Borough and Hemel Hempstead. He left at the end of 2022, having played made 12 appearances for the club.

Neo Richard-Noel joined the Club on a month’s loan from Kettering Town in October 2022. Prior to joining Kettering, he was at St Ives Town and St Neots Town scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances for the latter. He made a single appearance for the Diamonds during the loan period.

Dante Grey made the step up from the Diamonds Academy to the First Team squad during the 2022-23 season, and appeared seven times during October and November 2022.

Kartell Dawkins joined the club on loan from the Leicester City youth system. Originating from the West Midlands, the youngster impressed during a two month spell with the club in late 2022, appearing in 14 games before the loan period ended in early 2023.

Andy Kanga joined the club in autumn 2022 having been with the Blackpool FC Academy and a number of teams in the North West. He appeared 26 times in a forward role for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

Nigel Chikamba stepped up to the first team squad from the Diamonds Academy for the 2022-23 season, making his debut in October and appearing three times during that campaign.

Chris Manangu is a forward player who signed for the club in November 2022 aged 30 years old. He had previously played for Haringey Borough. He scored on his home debut v King’s Langley FC, but could not add any further goals in a total of five appearances before leaving at the end of 2022.

Peter Abimbola joined the club in November 2022 on a short-term loan from Northampton Town. The midfielder appeared in 8 matches before the loan period expired.

Momodou Talibeh Jallow, known as Tali was one of the first signings made by Chris Nunn, joining from Kempston Rovers. After a single appearance at the start of 2023 he was offered a professional deal by a club in Sweden.

George Joyce is a defender who joined the club at the start of 2023, having been on the books at Boreham Wood. He made five appearances for the club.

Luca Doorbar-Baptist is an Australian defender who signed dual registration forms with the Diamonds alongside his commitment with Peterborough Sports in early 2023. After a month with the club he stepped away from football.

Miguel Lopes de Matos is a left-sided defensive midfielder who had been with various clubs in outer London prior to joining Kempston Rovers. The Portuguese national played 13 times for the club after joining in January 2023.

Sidik Atcha played a single game in the Diamonds defence, returning to Harborough Town at the end of January 2023.

Charlie Pattison joined the club from AFC Dunstable in January 2023 to play in the Diamonds midfield. He made 10 appearances in the remainder of the campaign.

Joel Anker is a midfielder who joined the club on a loan deal from the MK Dons, appearing 12 times for the club during the loan spell.

Jim Burnside is a striker who joined the club in January 2023 having played for several local clubs. He made eight appearances during the remainder of the campaign.

Charlie Waller is a defender who joined the club on a loan deal from the MK Dons in January 2023, appearing 8 times for the club during the loan spell.

Loris Marcimain is a goalkeeper from Guadeloupe who signed ondual registration with St Albans City as short term cover. He appeared in three games.

Bodgan Marian is a Romanian-born forward player who joined the club on loan from Watford FC in February 2023. He appeared seven times for the club in the remainder of that campaign.

Roddy McGlinchey is a young defender who joined the club on loan from Peterborough Sports in March 2023, appearing 10 times during the loan spell.
