Player of the Month for December 2013 – Matt Gearing

Following a poll on, the winner of the December 2013 Player of the Month award is Matt Gearing. Matt picks up the monthly award following his notable contribution during the month in his wide midfield role. He scored three goals during the month, including a vital penalty that helped the Diamonds win at Spalding, and the opening goal against Graham St Prims in the FA Vase. He wins the award for the second month running, and joins the small group of Diamonds players who have picked up the monthly award on more than one occasion.

The award is sponsored by P.W. House Jewellers of Rushden, who are continuing a long tradition of sponsoring this award, going back many years with R&DFC. Their business has been part of life in Rushden High Street for the last 60 years.

The award was presented by Adrian House of  P.W. House Jewellers before the game against St Andrews FC on Saturday afternoon.

The first poll for 2014 will be available on shortly after the final game is played in January.
