Following a poll on AFCDiamonds.com, the winner of the September 2016 Player of the Month award is Matt Finlay. Surprisingly, this is the first time that Matt has picked up the monthly award, but his performances during September were particularly notable, especially in the game at Concord Rangers where he was instrumental in the Diamonds first victory over a Step 2 side.
The award is sponsored by P.W. House Jewellers of Rushden, who are continuing a long tradition of sponsoring this award, going back many years with R&DFC. Their business has been part of life in Rushden High Street for the last 60 years.
The award was presented by club chairman Ralph Burditt before the game against Sheffield FC.
