AFC Rushden & Diamonds would like to summarise all of the player movements over the past few days in one article to ensure that everybody is up-to-speed on the latest developments.
INCOMING
Diadier Camara
Supporters may have seen via the Pitching In Southern League Twitter account that midfielder Diadier Camara has signed for the Club on a dual-registration basis from National League North outfit Peterborough Sports. Whilst this is correct, unlike the recent dual-registration of Luca Doorbar-Baptist with Sports, Diadier is expected to remain with Peterborough Sports for the time being as he remains a part of their plans. Whilst we may see Diadier in a Diamonds shirt before the end of the season, this is not likely to be imminent.
Ben Gough
Supporters may have spotted a name they didn’t recognise on the teamsheet on Saturday at Coalville Town. We can confirm that defender Ben Gough has joined the Club on a dual-registration basis from United Counties League Premier Division South side Cogenhoe United. A strong and tenacious player, Ben is a product of the AFC Rushden & Diamonds Moulton Scholarship programme and is Cogenhoe’s Vice Captain. Please join us in welcoming Ben to the Club.
OUTGOING
Sidik Atcha
Following one appearance against Stratford Town, Sidik Atcha has opted to leave the Club and return to Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Harborough Town. Because Harborough are in a separate league with separate governance, they were able to retain his Northern League registration and as such, Sidik was immediately available to them at the weekend. We thank Sidik for his brief time with the Club and wish him well for the future.
John Dean
The Club can confirm that recent signing John Dean has joined Spartan South Midlands League Division One side Burton Park Wanderers on a dual-registration basis. As mentioned upon re-joining the Diamonds, John recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious injury and having found initial opportunities limited, it was agreed that it was in his best interests to get as many minutes as possible in his quest to retain full fitness. John remains a Diamonds player and we expect to see him again this season.
Courtney Lashley
The Club confirmed on social media last week that left-back Courtney Lashley has left the Club to join United Counties League Premier Division South high-flyers Wellingborough Town on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. Courtney remains in manager Chris Nunn’s plans for the future and we wish Courtney all the best during his spell with the Doughboys.
OTHER
Luke Massingham
Supporters have been asking about recent signing Luke Massingham after he was unavailable for the clash with Coalville Town at the weekend. Luke withdrew part-way through training on Thursday night with stomach pains and was later hospitalised, leading to his unavailability for this weekend’s fixture. We are pleased to advise supporters that Luke has now been discharged and is on the mend. We hope to have him available for selection again very soon.
