31/12/22:AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to welcome former player John Dean back to the Club. As supporters will remember, John – equally at home as a striker or wide midfielder – was part of the Diamonds squad that won promotion from the Southern League Division One Central in 2018 and remained with the club for the 2018-19 season at Step 3. Following his departure, John went on to play for Wisbech Town, Corby Town and St. Ives Town, before suffering an injury that would keep him out of action for an extended period of time. Regaining fitness with Northants Combination side Corby Strip Mills this season, John is now ready to step back up to Step 3 and manager Chris Nunn is pleased to add him to the group: “Chatting to John earlier this week he only had good things to say about our Club and was desperate to come back. I really like John’s attitude and work ethic and having spoken to Andy Peaks prior to re-signing John, he was very complimentary. He’ll add lots of pace and endeavor and I’m sure the supporters will welcome him back.”
Subject to league approval, John will be in the squad for Monday’s game against St. Ives Town.

06/02/23: The Club can confirm that recent signing John Dean has joined Spartan South Midlands League Division One side Burton Park Wanderers on a dual-registration basis. As mentioned upon re-joining the Diamonds, John recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious injury and having found initial opportunities limited, it was agreed that it was in his best interests to get as many minutes as possible in his quest to retain full fitness. John remains a Diamonds player and we expect to see him again this season.

06/07/23: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to confirm that John Dean will return to the Club for the 2023/24 season.

25/11/23: The Club can confirm that John Dean has returned to the Club for a third time, from Northamptonshire neighbours Daventry Town. John is available for selection for today’s fixture at Shepshed Dynamo.
