07/08/23: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are pleased to announce the signing of 22-year-old defender Kodi Briggs ahead of the 2023/24 Northern Premier League Midlands Division campaign. Kodi has appeared for the Club during many of this summer’s pre-season friendlies, with particularly strong showings in the matches against Leighton Town and Histon last month. Kodi is currently enrolled at Moulton College and joins an ever-growing list of players who have made the transition from our Moulton Scholarship Programme to the First Team over the last 6 months. He spent the 2021/22 season with Langford in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One (Step 6), before spending last season at Cogenhoe United in the United Counties League Premier Division South (Step 5). Manager Chris Nunn was pleased to get Kodi on board for the new season: “I’ve made no secret that the left back / left wing back role is an area of the pitch we’re a bit light in at the moment so it’s a no-brainer to get Kodi on board. It’s a great opportunity for him. He’s been with the group for most of pre-season and has more than held his own, he’s worked hard, listened and like most of our squad he’s at an age where we can develop him. A year at Cogenhoe will have been great for him last year and he feels he’s ready to push on, so we’ll give him the opportunity to show what he can do at this level.”
19/01/24: Kodi has signed dual registration forms with Bugbrooke St. Michaels.
