28/08/24: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of 18-year-old forward Levon Stewart. Levon has been hot property this summer after a goal-laden couple of seasons. As a 16-year-old in 2022/23, he hit 14 goals in 20 appearances for Irchester United at Step 7, before stepping up to Step 5 last season as a 17-year-old with Bugbrooke St. Michaels and latterly Daventry Town, grabbing 11 goals in 24 appearances in the United Counties League Premier Division.

Levon combined this with continuing to play for Bugbrooke’s U18’s, winning the golden boot in the Northants Senior Youth League two years running. He scored 4 goals against the Diamonds in the NSYL Champions Play-Off Final in May, a match watched by Manager Michael Harriman.

Diamonds Assistant Manager Dan Porter commented on the addition of Levon Stewart: “We’re really happy to bring Levon into the group. He adds another dynamic for us in the forward areas. He is young and keen to learn and having worked with him during the last two years I know he is a player that knows where the back of the net is. I think he will be a fantastic addition for us this season and looking forward to seeing him develop and gel with the group we have here.”

Levon is available for selection for Saturday’s fixture away to Shepshed Dynamo.
