05/01/24: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing on a dual registration basis of 28-year-old striker Luke Emery from United Counties League Premier Division South side Bugbrooke St. Michaels. A prolific finisher over many years in the United Counties League, Luke has featured for Cogenhoe United, Daventry Town, Newport Pagnell Town, Biggleswade Town and Northampton ON Chenecks. The 2018/19 United Counties League Premier Division Top Goalscorer has hit 7 goals in 20 games so far this season between Newport Pagnell Town and Bugbrooke St. Michaels.

The Club have been in the market for a striker for some time and manager Michael Harriman is understandably pleased with this vital addition to the group: “This is great news to get Luke in with us moving forward. Luke is a proven goalscorer, he’s done it for years and getting him through the door gives us a big boost. He is a big, strong lad who can link the play well and ultimately put the ball in the back of the net. We are looking forward to seeing him in a Diamonds shirt and seeing what he can achieve over the remainder of the season.”

Luke is available for selection for tomorrow’s crucial game at Hayden Road against Gresley Rovers in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

21/06/24: The Club are pleased to retain the services of forward Luke Emery for the 2024/25 season. Luke joined the Club at the very beginning of January 2024 and instantly provided a focal point at the top of the pitch. A superb display – and goal – followed at Bedworth United and thereafter, Luke was an integral part of the Great Escape.

Luke had this to say after agreeing terms for the new season: “It was an easy decision to stay and commit for another season. The boys and management at the back end of last season showed what we are about and what we can do. It should be a good year and I’m buzzing to get going again.”

20/09/24: AFC Rushden & Diamonds can confirm that forward Luke Emery has today departed the Club to join United Counties League Premier Division South neighbours Daventry Town, where he has had much success in the past. The Club would like to place on record our thanks to Luke for his contribution, particularly last season where he was almost ever-present during the Great Escape. In total Luke made 22 appearances for the Diamonds, scoring 3 times.
