03/02/25: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are excited to announce the signing of 30-year-old striker Nathan Burrows from United Counties League Premier Division South side Northampton Sileby Rangers.
Those with a keen eye on local football will have noticed Nathan’s incredible goalscoring exploits at Fernie Fields, hitting 123 goals in 124 appearances over the last 3 and a half seasons, including 45 goals during the 2022/23 season. He arrives at Hayden Road having scored 22 in 25 for Sileby at Step 5 this term and is a man bang in form.
Manager Michael Harriman had this to say about his new man: “I’m very pleased to get this one over the line and welcome Nathan into the group. He’s someone we’ve had watched a few times this season. He looks sharp, confident and it’s very clear that he knows where the goal is. I said on Saturday that I think this addition will be massive moving forward and hopefully Nathan will hit the ground running.”
Nathan spoke of his delight at joining the Diamonds: “Really excited to join such a great club and looking forward to see what the group can achieve this second half of the season. After speaking to both Michael and Ports it felt clear that there’s a great feeling about the group right now and one that I wanted to be a part of and show what I am able to do on the pitch. Growing up playing for Diamonds as a kid made it a no brainer jumping at the chance to play for the Club. I can’t wait to get started and out on the pitch hopefully giving the fans something to cheer about.”
Nathan Burrows will available for this weekend’s crucial fixture against Rugby Town at Hayden Road in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.
