08/01/20: AFC Rushden & Diamonds can announce that Ryan Hughes has been recalled from his loan by Northampton Town. Ryan was in his second loan spell at the club, having been injured towards the end of his first spell. Manager Andy Peaks said “It has been great to have Ryan around the club, the opportunities for him have been limited this month but he has shown us already what a big future he has In the game. It’s another example of how working with Northampton can help our team and continue the player development.”

01/07/22: Ryan registered with AFC Rushden & Diamonds for the forthcoming 2022/23 season.

20/06/23: AFC Rushden & Diamonds announced that Ryan Hughes is staying with the Club for the 2023/24 campaign.

17/07/24: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are absolutely thrilled to advise supporters that Ryan Hughes has re-signed for the Club ahead of the 2024/25 season. As Diamonds fans will know, Ryan suffered a very unfortunate injury a year ago during pre-season, an injury which kept him out for the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign. Having joined the Club initially on loan from Northampton Town in 2019, Ryan became a mainstay in the Diamonds defence and will be hoping to reach a century of appearances for the Club this season.

Ryan commented: “I’m delighted to be back at the Club for another season. Last year was a tough one for me with my injury but the support from the manager, players and the fans has been incredible. Looking forward to the start of the season and playing in front of the fans again and hopefully we can give them plenty to be excited about.”
