13/01/23: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old defender Sidik Atcha from Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Harborough Town.
The powerhouse 6’ 4” central defender, who can also play in midfield, counts St Ives Town, Kempston Rovers, Daventry Town, Soham Town Rangers and Corby Town amongst former clubs before featuring heavily for promotion-chasing Harborough Town in recent times. Sidik also had a spell on the continent at Polish side KS Lublinianka.
Manager Chris Nunn identified Atcha as a key signing for the Club and spoke to afcdiamonds.com about his delight with his latest capture: “This is a big signing for the Club in every sense of the word. Sidik is a beast and it’s really important that the spine of the team is as strong as it can possibly be. We have to be hard to beat and every time I’ve see him play, he’s been exactly that. A no-nonsense defender that is destined to kick on and play at a higher level, I can’t speak highly enough of him and can’t wait to see him in a Diamonds shirt.”
06/02/23: Following one appearance against Stratford Town, Sidik Atcha has opted to leave the Club and return to Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Harborough Town. Because Harborough are in a separate league with separate governance, they were able to retain his Northern League registration and as such, Sidik was immediately available to them at the weekend. We thank Sidik for his brief time with the Club and wish him well for the future.
