Post Election Report 2022

As members may recall, there were two valid nominations for election to the Club Board as a result of the two existing board members required to stand down and one vacancy caused by the resignation of Jon Ward in 2021 cycle with their terms taking effect from the next Annual General Meeting of the society.

Since no election was triggered, it has been agreed by the board to release the election statements (if submitted) so that members can familiarise themselves with those candidates that they might not know and also the aims and reasons for each candidate standing for the board.

David Bland

Some of you will know my face, if not my name, as I chaired the Diamond Minors (U16 Members) at the old club, while also serving on the Fundraising and Communications Committees as well as looking after the tunnel area, mascots and 50/50 Board on matchdays.  I gained extensive experience of working with both supporters and staff from the old club, but, as the new club emerged, work commitments prevented me from giving the time that I would have wanted to as a volunteer.  However, now in semi-retirement, I have the time needed to commit to helping steer the club through its next exciting chapter. As well as bringing experience gained from previous roles, in my work as a Senior Manager in the Aerospace and Defence industry I represent the UK in terms of Communication and Inclusion and want to use that knowledge to try and highlight our great community ethos, while also ensuring the voices of our fans are heard. Lastly, I really want to encourage greater participation in the future of the Club from our younger fans.
