Southern Football League Division One Central

Potters Bar Town FC v AFC Rushden & Diamonds

AFC Rushden & Diamonds will travel to face Potters Bar Town FC on Saturday. The Diamonds are aware that the Scholars have had a very good run at the turn of the year, winning four consecutive games, the last of which was a 4-0 win over Beaconsfield SYCOB just a week after the Diamonds had lost 4-0 to the same club. In midweek they produced a notable comeback in their game at home to Ware FC, being 3-0 down before half-time only to recover for a 3-3 draw.

Our Opponents

Potters Bar Town FC was formed in 1960 as Mount Grace Old Scholars, and, after dropping ‘Old Scholars’ from the name in 1984, changed to their present name in 1991. After spending time in local leagues they progressed to the South Midlands League in the early 1990’s, and reached the Southern League in 2005. After a period where they were switched to the Isthmian League they switched back to the Southern League in 2013. Last season they finished in 14th place in Division One Central.

Their website is here and their twitter feed here. They are managed by Steve Ringrose and play in a maroon strip.

They have reached the semi-final of the Red Insure Cup this season, and are due to host Cambridge City in that game.
