Mark Starmer gave afcdiamonds.com an update prior to Saturday’s game in the FA Carlsberg Vase when Fakenham Town visit the Dog and Duck.
He reported that the only new injury problem is for Elliot Dent who is likely to miss this weekend’s game following a knock he picked up in the game at Olney, but Jack Wisniewski will return to the squad after missing that game due to illness. Alex Deakin continues to recuperate following his surgery last month.
Mark and the squad are looking forward to the Diamonds’ first ever cup game, and will be looking to try to win it at the Dog and Duck in the 90 minutes, but are ready to play extra time on Saturday or face a replay should that be what it takes to get to the next round.
You can read Mark’s thoughts on the season so far, how he sees the shape of his squad, and more thoughts about the fans’ support in his notes for the game in the matchday programme for the first Diamonds game in the FA Vase which will be on sale at the ground. (Note that programme season tickets are not valid for this issue).
