AFC Rushden & Diamonds manager Mark Starmer gave a squad update prior to the game on Saturday against Rushden & Higham United at Hayden Road.
He reported that he will have all of his squad available for the game with the exception of Alex Deakin and Elliot Dent. Alex has been recuperating well from his operation, and taking part in non-contact training, and Mark hopes he will be able to play in the forthcoming AFC R&D XI game at Lutterworth Athletic on October 18th.
Mark also reported that the team changes last weekend had freshened things up, and he was pleased with how the Diamonds youngsters did in that game, so after a good week in training the lads are looking really keen for the game at the weekend.
Saturday’s game will be preceded by a 1 minute’s silence in memory of Rushden & Higham United’s long serving Secretary, Chris Ruff, who sadly passed away on Thursday following a short illness.
