Admission has been confirmed by Holwell Sports as £2.50 per person.
Our Opponents
The Sports are from Asfordby Hill, near Melton Mowbray, and play in the East Midlands Counties league, which is a Step 6 division, the same as UCL1, where they finished mid-table last season.
The club was formed in 1904 as Holwell Works, changing name to Holwell Sports in 1988. They are managed by Simon Daws, and their club colours are yellow and green.
They kick off their league season on August 4th before playing UCL Premier side Sleaford Town in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round the following Saturday.
Travel / Facilities
Holwell Sports play in the Melton Mowbray area. Their ground is at Welby Road, Asfordby Hill, Melton Mowbray LE14 3RD, around 45 miles from the Dog and Duck – directions here.
As with most evening games there are not really any public transport options due to the uncertainty of return trips, but those who can get a lift back from the ground and who wish to use public transport to get to the game can consider an option to get a train to Loughborough from Wellingborough, and then use the Centrebus Midlands Bus 8 to Asfordby Hill – see Traveline to get door to door public transport directions.
