Played at a neutral venue with no spectators allowed the first team squad got a good run out with a number of trialists looking to impress manager Andy Peaks. New signing Richard Walton started in goal along with Patrick Casey, Liam Dolman, Jack Ashton, Nat Gosnal-Tyler, Jesse Akubuine and returning Fernando Bell-Toxtle, and Chris Wreh. Three trialists made up the starting eleven with Will Jones, Tom Lorraine, Ben Ford, Matt Slinn and Joel Gyasi all coming on second half along with a further three trialists.
Liam Dolman opened the scoring for Diamonds in the first half with Chris Wreh slotting a neat finish for the second before half-time. Liam Dolman was then replaced by the final trialist before Tom Lorraine added a fourth to complete the scoring.
