Sam Brown reached a notable landmark in both his career and in the history of AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday evening when he played his 100th game for the club.
He thus becomes the first Diamonds player to make a century of appearances, having also been part of the history making side that took to the pitch in the Diamonds first game back in August 2012.
Sam has played in 100 of the Diamonds 119 games to date, including 75 league games, plus 10 in each of the FA Cup and FA Vase plus 5 other appearances in the local cup competitions. He started in 97 of those games, and in the vast majority he completed the full 90 minutes. Sam has found the back of the net twice, with the two goals just a week apart as the Diamonds pushed for promotion from UCL Division One – including a very late goal against Eynesbury Rovers that looked to have sealed a win for his team (before a controversial equaliser).
