AFC Rushden & Diamonds 2021-22 Educational Scholarships in Partnership with Moulton College

As part of our Post-16 Player Pathway, AFC Rushden & Diamonds is able to offer exciting opportunities with our educational partner Moulton College through our U19s and U23s Football Scholarships. You will have the prospect to study various ‘post-16’ Moulton College educational courses, whilst training as a footballer in an environment that mirrors that of a professional club.

Your study timetable is specifically designed to ensure a balance between academic focus and football development. Whilst studying for courses to degree entry level and degree level – you will also have opportunities to play for Moulton College and the club itself. The U19s and U23s Football Scholarship is an integral part of AFC Rushden & Diamonds Post-16 Player Pathway. whether joining from Academy or Community Football.

With both Male and Female programs available – the Football Scholarship program is developed with AFC Rushden & Diamonds core player principles and values at its heart – Attitude Focus Commitment Respect & Desire. The Football element of the program is delivered by UEFA A and UEFA B qualified Coaches – many of whom also hold Coaching roles within the clubs Academy Pathway. Factors that ensure the quality of the provision is of the highest level and has direct links with the club at every level.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Moulton College are committed to preparing our young player’s for their future footballing career. Moreover developing them as individuals for life beyond the sport. Our Football Scholarship provides a fully rounded academic and football education with the provision of nationally recognised coaching qualifications, work experience and links for future careers.

As a talented footballer on our Scholarship program, you will not only receive the vey best coaching, but will also benefit from performance services such as: Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Sports Therapists, Sports Massage, Lifestyle Management and Performance Analysis. All delivered at facilities that are currently used by a professional Football League Club. You will have the opportunity to compete at the level of college sport most appropriate to you – with the inclusion of: The National Youth Alliance U19 League, The National Football League U23, The ESFA and ECFA National Championships.

As part of our Scholarship Programme and in association you may represent AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the FA Youth Cup, Northants FA Under 18 David Joyce Cup and local midweek and floodlit Northants Senior Youth League. With the right qualities and application, the Poat-16 Player Pathway may lead you to the Club’s U21 squad and ultimately to the Southern Premier League First Team squad.

Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)

Moulton College is leading the way with supporting talented athletes in education in England, having been accredited by an innovative Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) initiative. The Sport England-backed programme supports young sportspeople on the talent pathway to have the opportunity to gain qualifications alongside their sporting pursuits, follow other interests, as well as further their personal development. By formally recognising our commitment to supporting student-athletes, the TASS Dual Career Accreditation Scheme aims to allow athletes to reach their potential in education alongside achieving success in their sport by providing additional academic flexibility to work around training and sport event commitments.

As part of our U19 Scholarship, you are able to study one of the following course options:

  • BTEC Level 2 in Sport

  • 1st4Sport Level 2 in Coaching Multi-skills

  • 1st4Sport Level 3 in Coaching Multi-skills

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science

As part of our U23 Scholarship, you are able to study one of the following course options:

  • BSc Strength and Conditioning

  • FdSc Performance and Coaching

  • BSc Performance and Coaching

  • FdSc Sports Therapy

  • BSc Sports Therapy
