Sleaford Town v AFC Rushden & Diamonds
AFC Rushden & Diamonds travel to the Lincolnshire on Saturday to face Sleaford Town at Eslaforde Park, in the ChromaSport and Trophies UCL Premier Division.
There is a clubhouse bar on site and last season the club arranged additional catering for the game, with an on-site Barbeque. The ground and clubhouse are open from around noon on Saturdays. There is a large car park for over 100 cars, and the club advise drivers to avoid coming through the Town Centre as it gets extremely busy on a Saturday.
Eslaforde Park is called after the original name for the town.
Our Opponents
Sleaford Town FC was formed in 1968, and after a period in Lincolnshire Leagues they joined the UCL in 2004. They were promoted to the UCL Premier in 2007.
The Town play in green shirts and black shorts, and are currently managed on a temporary basis by Terry Fleming. Diamonds fans will recall that Sleaford manager Kris Jones was seriously injured in a car accident shortly before the start of the season. Further details about the club can be found on their website here. Their Twitter feed is here.
The Greens have had a rather mixed season, with an excellent win at Cogenhoe last weekend as well as against Eynesbury and Harborough, plus a recent draw with Huntingdon, but also a heavy 9-0 defeat at Peterborough Northern Star and a 5-2 home reverse by Holbeach..
