AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to confirm that Dean Snedker has signed Southern League forms for the 2022/23 season.
A crucial part of last season’s playoff challenge, Dean was ever present in the Southern League last season with many impressive performances.
Upon Dean signing, Andy Burgess commented “When I joined the club last season I was told by lots of people in and around the club that Dean was the best ‘keeper in the division and it quickly became evident that was very true. Over the course of a season the amount of points a ‘keeper wins you is crucial and with Sneds committed to the club it gives everyone a massive lift. He was the Supporters and my Player of the Season last year, which speaks volumes about how important it was to tie him down. I know he has spoken to other clubs, including plenty at higher levels which I would fully expect, but I think we tick a lot of boxes for him which is why he has decided to remain a Diamond.
Replacing him would have been impossible, not just his ability between the sticks but his character, professionalism and presence both on and off the pitch, so naturally I’m absolutely delighted he will be our number 13 again this season and I think I speak on behalf of every player, official and supporter of the club by welcoming his signature and hope he has another fantastic season.“
