NFA Hillier Senior Cup – Semi-Final

A stoppage time Will Jones goal at Hayden Road won a closely contested Hillier Senior Cup Semi-Final 2-1 against Bugbrooke St. Michaels. It sees Diamonds progress to a Sixfields final against Peterborough Sports – date to be confirmed.

Diamonds put out a strong side against Step 5 opposition and after largely dominating the first half they took the lead through AJ George’s first Diamonds goal.

Bugbrooke were always in the game particularly in the second half and equalised on 70 minutes through a brilliant free-kick by Calvin Green. The closing stages were even with chances at both ends but just when penalties loomed Will Jones popped up with a winner from a tight angle.
