Pre-Season Friendly

Diamonds were held to a 1-1 draw on their visit to Thame United on Saturday afternoon.

Diamonds went with a trialist in goal (later to be confirmed as Dean Snedker who signed on for the club) with Patrick Casey, Liam Dolman, Ryan Hughes and Sam Warburton the back four. Fernando Bell-Toxtle, Jesse Akubuine, Nathan Tshikuna and a trialist played behind Lorrell Smith and Ben Diamond.

Diamonds enjoyed plenty of possession but very few chances in a goalless first-half. They did open the scoring early in the second half as Ryan Hughes pounced on a goalkeeping mistake to tap home from 2 yards. Thame were always in the contest and hit the side netting with a good chance before equalising as the striker broke through, rounded the trialist in goal and struck into the roof of the net.

Not the most commanding performance from Diamonds but another good workout with players getting used to each other in differing formations.

Next up the visit of Daventry Town in the restaging of the Dale Roberts Memorial Cup.
