Following talks over the weekend between AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Burton Park Wanderers FC, it has been confirmed that Alfie Taylor will join the Latimer Park club for the remainder of the season on loan.
The deal, which has been arranged just ahead of today’s (31st March) 5pm deadline, will see Taylor’s UCL registration transferred to BPWFC whilst the player remains under contract at AFC R&D.
Speaking to afcdiamonds.com, Chairman Ralph Burditt said: All parties are in agreement that the best thing for Alfie to do at the moment is to go and play some football and that is exactly what he will be able to do at BPWFC who have ten games left this season compared to our four. Last year Louis Smith went to play for Joe [Smyth, BPWFC manager] and by all accounts benefitted hugely from it, so the club had no qualms about allowing another of our players to move there.
