Thurnby Nirvana v AFC Rushden & Diamonds

AFC Rushden & Diamonds make a trip to Leicester on Saturday as they travel to face Thurnby Nirvana in their final game before Christmas. This will be the Diamonds first visit to Dakyn Road, as it is their free-scoring opponents first season in the United Counties League.

Adam Confue will be unavailable for this game, as he serves his ban for picking up five yellow cards this season.

Details of admission prices and any parking recommendations will be added here as provided by the host club.

Our Opponents

Thurnby Nirvana was formed in 2008 by the merger of Thurnby Rangers and Leicester Nirvana, joining the UCL at the start of this season after winning the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League last campaign.

They are based in Thurnby Lodge which is an estate in eastern Leicester. Their ground has a clubhouse in one corner, with two small covered areas on a bank behind the goal next to the clubhouse (seen towards the bottom of the picture below). There is hard standing alongside the pitch on both sides. There is a review of a recent visit to the ground here.

Thurnby are managed by Damion Quailey and their club colours are green and red. Their club website is here, and their twitter feed is here.

They have had a mixed debut season in the UCL, but notably have reached the fourth round of the FA Vase where they will entertain Holbeach in the New Year. They have averaged over three goals per game at home, and are second only to the Diamonds in terms of total goals scored, and in goals scored at home.
