The Board of AFC Rushden & Diamonds are welcoming applicants to serve a co-opted
vacancy as Treasurer on a voluntary basis.
Serving as a Co-opted Director of the Club, the Treasurer will have exposure to discussion
on all Club issues with input and suggestions welcomed, and will subsequently hold voting
rights. Working closely with a small team of volunteers in the Finance Team, the Treasurer
will be responsible for overseeing the creation of, and management to, the First Team
budget, as well as liaising with key personnel in other areas of the Club on financial
management. Whilst the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a working experience in
an accounting and/or bookkeeping role, full training will be given in the form of a handover
period with the existing Financial Controller, with the intention to assume the role no later
than the end of March 2024.
Whilst the majority of this role can be completed remotely, generally within five to six hours a
week, the availability to attend occasional face to face meetings, and a minimum of one
Board meeting, in Rushden, per quarter, would be conducive to the overall success of the
role.
Role responsibilities include:
● Preparation of management information including Business Position Statements
(Quarterly) and Business Performance Statements (Monthly).
● Preparation of annual budgets for the First Team.
● Liaison with the Director of Academy and sign off of annual budgets for the Academy.
● Completion of the Xero accounting package.
● Liaison with auditors as regards the audit and production of the accounts.
● Preparation of audited accounts for presentation to Part Owners at AGM.
● Preparation for payment of VAT.
