Welcome to the ‘One Club Group’

The ‘One Club Group’ has been set-up in response to the fantastic growth and success of AFC Rushden & Diamonds as the club prepares to celebrate its ‘First Decade’ Anniversary…

The role of the One Club Group is to share best practice, standardize the brand across the club sections and bring together the huge amount of Players, Supporters and Volunteers for a common goal – the success and sustainability of AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

From the first initial planning meeting for the ‘phoenix club’ some 10 years ago – AFC Rushden & Diamonds now has successful sections covering:  First Team, Under 21s, Walking Football, Youth Community Football, Academy Pathway, Women & Girls Football and a Scholarship / Further Education Program.

These club Sections involve c.  48 Staff, 145 Volunteers, 649 Players and works in conjunction with numerous suppliers / regulatory bodies.  Managing such numbers is tough enough when an organization employs full time, paid staff – so for the club to achieve this with part time, volunteers is an enormous task.

Each and every section of AFC Rushden & Diamonds is successful and well managed in its own right.  The One Club Group is a cross-section of Club volunteers that meet regularly to discuss, share and build on best practice to support the day to day running of the club, by providing ideas, initiatives and suggestions to the Youth Section/Womens & Girls Section/Walking Football or the Main Board for consideration and (if appropriate) implementation across all areas.

An example of this in working practice is A – Attitude, F – Focus, C – Commitment, R – Respect, D-Desire was an acronym used by the Academy, which was shared with the One club group, the youth section adopted this last season and you will notice this feature in the clubs recently published Strategic Plan.

The One Club Group is driven by a consistent set of values and a vision to support AFC & Diamonds (as a club) in becoming and remaining the very best it can achieve.

The One Club Group does not have all the answers.  We would welcome input, feedback and involvement from all stakeholders.  To contact the One Club Group with your ideas, initiatives or suggestions – please feel free to e-mail Jon Ward (Club Vice Chairman and Lead of One Club Group) at:  jon.ward@afcdiamonds.com.  All e-mails received will be discussed and considered at future One Club Group Meetings.

We look forward to your future input and continued support.  In the meantime – please all Stay Safe & Well…

Best Regards,

Jon, Mark, Alan, Kevin & Ryan
