Rushden Round Table get behind AFC Rushden & Diamonds

AFC Rushden & Diamonds would like to thank Rushden Round Table for their recent support with the “New Home” fundraising campaign. The organisation has supported the local Community for generations and is looking for volunteers to help support their valuable work.

Steve Thomas explained “Rushden Round Table support several local charities and communities including that of AFC Rushden & Diamonds. For those who may not have heard of Rushden Round Table we have been established since 1949 and are a group of volunteers aged between 18 and 45 years, who raise monies for organisations within our community.

Being local volunteers, we have a vested interest in building a brighter future for Rushden and the surrounding areas.

Annually we help organise a number of both social and fundraising events, including the Christmas Santa Sleigh Collection and the Funfest at Rushden Rugby Club. Although you may have not have heard of Rushden Round Table you would more than likely will have seen our Sleigh.

For nearly 50 years, our Sleigh has attempted to visit as many homes in Rushden, Wymington, Stanwick and Higham Ferrers as possible. Through wind and rain we brave the conditions and allow Santa to brings smiles to both children and adults, and this happens together with supporting local charities and organisations which makes it all worthwhile.

Of course, this would not be possible without volunteers with every member taking time out to help others and have fun, and we are always looking for new members to bring fresh ideas and join in.  If you are interested in getting involved in your local community then please do get in touch.

You can visit our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/rushdenroundtable) and contact us.”
